Q1 2021 Performance of Top Simulation/Adventure Games on Android in France

In the first quarter of 2021, the Simulation and Adventure gaming category on Android devices saw interesting trends in France. Insights from Sensor Tower provide a glimpse into the performance of the top five games in this sector.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery by Jam City, Inc. displayed a slight decline in revenue, starting the quarter with roughly $45K in the first week and ending with about $42K. Downloads for the game decreased from 13K to 6K, while weekly active users showed a more positive trend, increasing from 214K to 233K by the end of the quarter.

For Hollywood Story®: Fashion Star by NANOBIT, the revenue trend was downward, with a start of around $17K and a dip to approximately $6K. The game's downloads also declined from 8K to 3K, and weekly active users decreased from 66K to 51K through the quarter.

Nintendo's Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp showed fluctuating revenue, peaking at roughly $6K and dipping to $4K. Downloads started at 8K and saw a drop to 4K, while weekly active users began at 82K and ended with a slight increase at 66K.

PK XD: Fun, friends & games from Afterverse Games experienced a notable increase in downloads, starting at 11K and reaching nearly 20K, before ending the quarter at around 14K. Revenue for the game showed a peak at $3.7K, with a subsequent drop to $1.8K. Weekly active users saw an overall increase from 88K to 113K.

Lastly, AI Dungeon by Latitude Inc. had a modest revenue trend, beginning with about $2K and closing the quarter at $1.6K. Downloads saw a significant spike in mid-March with over 2K, but this did not sustain, as it fell back to 143 by the end of March. Active users peaked at 22K but ended the quarter at around 10K.
